Situated at an altitude of 14,160 ft (4243 m) above sea level, the Indrahar Pass Trek is situated in the Dhauladhar Range, being a Himalayan trek, both its climbing outline and relative proximity to the plains are sufficiently extensive and significant.
The Indrahar Pass starts at McLeodganj and takes you through lush green forests, rocky hilly areas, glaciers, snow and ice. The Indrahar Pass trek is an experience that varies with the time of year and season. Arrive at McLeodganj and start the Triund trek from the village of BhagsuNag near McLeodganj. After the breakfast meal, your trek will start at 9:30 am. The next day In the morning, a new adventure waits for you. After breakfast, you will start walking towards the Laka glacier. You will trek along the glacial moraine to reach the snowline, from where you will have a glorious view of the Dhauladhar range. Walk down to the Laka Glacier and enjoy the snowy mountain, click pictures of the entire scene. The glacier remains in snow during March to May and then starts to melt monsoon. Spend some time in the glacier and then return back to laka glacier camp for an overnight stay in the tents.
Get up early in the morning and have breakfast and start the longest leg of the trek till Indrahar Pass which will take you to its peak in 5 -6 hours. Its height is 4243 meters above sea level. The path is bad so we have to walk very carefully as the track becomes stony, making our journey difficult and challenging. Suddenly, the slope of the path increases even more, and now you are close to your destination. Upon arriving at the pass, see tridents adorned with pieces of red cloth in a pyramidal heap of boulders and rocks. The views from above are incredible with snow visible on the higher reaches and there may be some clouds below. If there are no clouds, views of the entire Kangra valley can catch your attention. If you trek from May to June, you will find snow patches on which you will have to walk, although you will not find snow on the trail in the post-monsoon period, although you can enjoy a spectacular view of the snowy peaks.
